An anaconda about 4 meters long was rescued by a team from the Environmental Police in Itaporã, Mato Grosso do Sul, 227 km from Campo Grande, the state capital.
The snake was in a pond, entangled in a fishing net, but was removed without injuries.
The animal was taken and released in a wooded area near the city, considered its natural habitat.
Net fishing is prohibited for amateur fishermen in Mato Grosso do Sul.
